Good afternoon, Inlovearts familiars. Today we want to tell the story of the special and hot-sale products in our store to all of you--- Quilling Paper Painting. Maybe many people know little about it and have little interest in it. We want to introduce it to all, hoping you all can know about it and like it.

I think that maybe many of you hardly know what it is, so, first I want to share that. Quilting Paper Painting, also known as paper filigree or Quilting, is the craft of rolling strips of paper and gluing them onto a surface to create an intricate three-dimensional piece of artwork. The quilting strips of paper can be glued onto a thick piece of card stock or canvas. It can also be pasted onto three-dimensional objects like boxes or used to make jewelry. Paper quilting is becoming an extremely popular hobby among paper crafters, but it is not a new art form by any means.

Quilting began as an art form in the ancient world. Although its exact origins are a mystery the art of quilting is thought to have originated in Ancient Egypt. More recently quilting has been practiced as an art form in Renaissance France/Italy as well as in 18th century England. During the Renaissance, French and Italian nuns and monks used quilting to decorate book covers and religious items. The paper most commonly used was strips of paper trimmed from the gilded edges of books. These gilded paper strips were then rolled to create the quilting shapes. Quilting saw its greatest popularity during the 18th and 19th centuries when it was practiced by affluent women. In a 1786 edition of the New Lady’s Magazine, Quilting was cited as a safe hobby, and Quilting was even immortalized by Jane Austin in her first novel, Sense and Sensibility

Over its long and storied history, the art of Quilting has had fans and splendid artists who were instrumental in keeping the art form alive. Unfortunately, many of their names are lost to history. Today, as Quilting has started to again grow in popularity a new generation of artists and companies have emerged with the aim of popularizing the art of Quilting and making this beautiful art form accessible to the masses. The rise in popularity is also attributed to the fact that this craft can be easy to learn for both kids and adults. As long as you have a creative spirit and good hand-eye coordination, paper quilling will be very enjoyable for you!
